Country Singer/Songwriter Gareth Leach releases debut single Freeway Lines
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 31/08/2016 Melbourne, AUSTRALIA
Freeway Lines was written, performed and produced by multi-instrumentalist Gareth Leach.
Gareth explains: "Freeway Lines is really personal song about going back to my hometown of Echuca, and the feelings I get when I come home. I think people can relate to that nostalgic feeling you get after being away for a really long time. The memories you have of walking down your old main street and catching up with life-long friends.”
The track also features incredible lead guitar work by Lee Sonnyboy Morgan from the Gunditjmara/Kerea Whurrung nations, who has appeared alongside Jimmy Barnes, Archie Roach, and Shane Howard among others.
"Lee has been a fixture of the Australian Country-Rock scene for many years now. He's an incredible player and an amazing guy. He took the message of the song and really ran with it.”
Freeway Lines serves as a first taste from Gareth's debut EP Settle Like Stones, due out Summer 2016.
"Settle Like Stones is a collection of my favourite tunes I’ve written over the past year, touching on the personal journeys we all make every day. The good, the bad, the ugly, and the sentimental moments and feelings we go through. Producing this EP has been a personal journey for me in stepping out from behind the drums, where I have been playing and touring in bands for over a decade, playing the majority of the instruments and putting myself out there – sharing my stories."
